ZBRUCKI SVETOVID, replica
The Zbruch pillar or Svetovid from Zbruč (Polish: Światowid ze Zbrucza; Ukrainian: Zbručanskij ídol) is the most famous Slavic polytheistic idol, which is supposed to be from the 9th century.
It is made of stone and is about 2.7m high. It was found in 1848 in the Zbruch River (on the territory of Galicia at the time, and today's Ukraine), not far from Medobori Hill, where there are ruins of unknown origin, and today it is exhibited in the Archaeological Museum in Krakow.

Such statues made in stone (or wood) with the image or images of deities were found all over the Slavic world. They mostly occupied central places in sanctuaries or were located on hills in the vicinity of inhabited places. Most were destroyed by the advent of Christianity and there are rare examples like this one that have been somewhat preserved.
