      RODA, PARENT
All civilizations bear witness to the matriarchal principle, which at one point was replaced by patriarchy, and also to the Great Goddess, the Mother, who gave birth to the world. Roda has a view of that principle from the point of view of the Slavs.
The Goddess Roda is directly responsible for the fertility of humans and animals, she makes sure that all female beings have their offspring. She gives souls to newborn children and cubs. Her companions are "Rozdanice" who give the newborn the characteristics that they will carry for the rest of their lives and they all work together to protect the mother and the child from the evil demons of disease.
To this day, Roda has remained a messenger of good luck and well-being. With her arrival every spring, life is restarted, she brings the lush greenery of nature and starts the cycle of birth. Even today, Slavs believe that it is bad luck to destroy a stork's nest, and there is also a belief that "storks bring children."
