Jesus' birth refers to the birth of Jesus Christ, described in the Bible and historical records. It is celebrated at Christmas. Christians believe that Jesus was the promised Messiah, who was born and became a man, to redeem people from sin, to show them his love and mercy.
Jesus' birth is described in the gospels of Luke and Matthew. In the Old Testament prophets have indicated the birth of the Messiah who would redeem men from their sins. The New Testament brings a fulfillment of prophecy. Virgin Mary gave birth to Jesus, the Son of God, in the city of Bethlehem. Emperor Augustus commanded Census. Joseph and the pregnant Mary went on a journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem, where the population census was for them. Due to the crowd they could not find a place in the inns, and eventually ended up in a barn surrounded by domestic animals, where Jesus was born. The angels reported the news of Jesus' birth to the shepherds, and they first saw the child. After the shooting star led three wise men to Jesus.
