Tinkers alley is the old urban center of the city of Nis, built in the first half of the 18th century. It represented a street (alley) in which concentrations of coppersmith, coopers and weavers trades were concentrated, together with houses of craftsmen originating from the Turkish period.
Unfortunately, only one part of these houses is now preserved and protected as one structural building block. The alley is under the protection of the state as a complex of great architectural value. Today it is Kopitareva Street in the very center of the city. Now the street is full of cafes and restaurants and a favorite place for young people to go out.
