The national costume of Gnjilane or Kosovsko Pomoravlje is one of the most famous Serbian costumes from Kosovo and Metohija. The women's folk costume of Gnjilane (Kosovsko Pomoravlje) is dominated by white or soft colors. The women's dress is hand-embroidered at the back, and this women's costume is characterized by a so-called waistband ("reska") - it is a belt worn around the waist, with tassels falling below the waist. The waistband is decorated with hand-sewn silver coins and a hand-embroidered handkerchief on the front. Bodice has a characteristic cut and is made in several colors with silver and gold ornaments. The apron is hand-woven and hand-embroidered, and socks and other parts of the costume are made in several variants depending on whether the costume is for a married woman or a girl.
