The Pec Patriarchate Monastery is a group of churches on the Pec dom, near Pecka Bistrica, at the entrance to the Rugovska Gorge. The Pec Patriarchate is one of the most significant monuments of the Serbian past. For centuries it housed the seat and mausoleum of Serbian archbishops and patriarchs. Since its inception in the 13th century, the Patriarchate has been bringing together learned theologians, fine writers, and endowed artists, and all of them have left testimonials of their preaching there.
