Nova Pavlica Monastery is located next to Ibar in Pavlica, not far from Stara Pavlica Monastery and the remains of the Brvenik Fort. It belongs to the Diocese of Zica of the Serbian Orthodox Church and is an immovable cultural property as a cultural monument of great importance.
It was erected at the end of the 14th century by the Musici brothers (Stefan and Lazar) as their endowment and it is believed that, after their deaths in the Kosovo battle, they were buried beneath their portraits in the monastery church. The monastery itself was founded as a women's monastery, and their mother, the wife of the leader Musa and the sister of Prince Lazar (1371-1389) Dragan, retired and passed away as the nun Theodosius. After the Kosovo battle, the body of Prince Lazar was lodged in the monastery in 1392 during his transfer to Ravanica.
