Not far from Rekovac is the Serbian medieval monastery Kalenic. The history of the monastery brings us back to the first half of the 15th century, when it is believed that the Kalenic monastery was built. As far as is known, at that time Serbia was ruled by despot Stefan Lazarevic, and Kalenic monastery was erected as one of his endowments by one of the great despots, Stefan. A certain Bogdan, by virtue of the anti-vestry, that is, the manager of finances, his wife Milica and his brother Petar are cited as the donors of the Kalenic monastery.
The main monastery church was erected between 1407 and 1413, and for the first time the Kalenić monastery was mentioned in the censuses of the land conquered by the Turkish conquerors in 1476 - 1478 and once again in 1516. It is particularly interesting that in these lists the Kalenić Monastery is mentioned as the Prečiste Monastery in Levč.
