Many Chilandar monks make rosaries from the berries of a plant called "Tears of Mother of God". Next to the rosary there is an appropriate story: There was a monk long ago who mourned a lot because he could not learn to knit rosary. Then the Most Holy One appeared to him and asked him, "Why are you grieving, my dear?" And he said, "I cannot learn to knit rosary." Then he blessed him with the gifts of seeds and said, "Take these tears of mine and grow them for craft, and make rosaries for prayer, saying, 'Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me,' and 'Holy Mother of God, save us.'
