The icon is made on a MDF board using the lamination technique. Mediapan is a material consisting of high-quality fibrous wood, and the lamination technique achieves the final finish and icon quality.

The icon is decorated in detail with a rich gold print, which contributes to the luxurious appearance and aesthetics of the icon itself. In addition to gold printing, the relief technique is also used to further emphasize the details on the icon.

Orthodox icons, especially those made according to the Russian model, most often depict holy persons, such as Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary, holy apostles, archangels and other saints. Each saint has its own specific characteristics and symbols used in the depiction.

In short, the Orthodox icon made on a MDF board using the lamination technique with a rich gold print and made according to the Russian model, represents a modern interpretation of traditional Russian icons that depict holy persons with specific characteristics and symbols.

Saint Nicholas is the common name for Nicholas of Myra, a saint and Bishop of Myra (Demre, in Lycia, part of modern-day Turkey). Because of the many miracles attributed to his intercession, he is also known as Nicholas the Wonderworker. He had a reputation for secret gift-giving, such as putting coins in the shoes of those who left them out for him, and thus became the model for Santa Claus, whose English name comes from the Dutch Sinterklaas. His reputation evolved among the faithful, as is common for early Christian saints. In 1087, his relics were furtively translated to Bari, in southern Italy; for this reason, he is also known as Nicholas of Bari.
