MOTHER OF GOD - in all Evangelical traditions of the mother of the Lord Jesus Christ; Virgin Mary, who in a unique way declares the Holy Spirit in the Church; symbol of spirituality and godliness. The Apostle Luke portrays Mary as a pious woman, who is faithfully obeyed by the Law, and her answers to the message of God are expressed in true Old Testament terms. She receives the hint of salvation, accepts it and thus enables its fulfillment. She also became the first epiphany of the Holy Spirit about reality of the Heavenly Kingdom. Mother of God is the first icon, the first gift, the first manifestation of the Holy Spirit. She is the Mother of God who bore the Son of God, who took the perfect human nature from her. On this occasion, during its history, Christianity gave due respect to the Mother of God. In addition, the Church dedicated several holidays to her during the year.
