Roman govori o propasti srpskog južnomoravskog sela u komunizmu. Na vrcav i duhovit način autor je ismejao komunističko društvo, ali je i početkom 80-ih godina XX veka predvideo propast komunizma. Tih godina za tako nešto trebalo je imati hrabrosti.
Govori o povesti jedne južnosrbijanske porodice iz Doljevca u toku i posle rata i njen hod kroz burno i neizvesno vreme kao i njeno raslojavanje. Kroz porodicu Arizanovića pisac je dao srbijansko selo uopšte, njegovo odumiranje i propadanje u vremenu koje mu nije bilo naklonjeno, pod politikom koja ga nije razumela.
